Oxford Literary Festival

25th March

In the lecture theatre of Weston Library, Frances was interviewed by writer and folklore expert Elizabeth Garner. There was much discussion of shapeshifting, curses as a resort for the powerless, folkloric inspirations, and narrative structure.

Frances appeared in a virtual Q&A event for the Oxplore Book Club.

Neev Literature Festival Reading Challenge event

Frances enjoyed taking part in a Q&A session for the Neev Literature Festival Reading Challenge.

Frances gave a seminar on 'Magic, Myth-reaping and Monster-making: How to lure your reader into the Dark Woods'.

Edinburgh Book Festival

18th August

At the Edinburgh Book Festival, Frances was skillfully interviewed by Nadine Aisha Jassat, with questions about Unraveller and her writing process.

Lector in Fabula Festival, Puglia

18th-19th September

In the beautiful old city of Conversano, Frances was lucky enough to appear in events at a converted Benedictine convent. A wonderful opportunity to meet local students, and spend time with the lovely folks from Project Hamelin!

UK tour for Unraveller and Island of Whispers

25th-29th September

This was a tour for both the paperback of Unraveller and the newly released Island of Whispers. Frances bounced around the UK, visiting schools in Honley, Holmfirth, Neston, Letchworth Garden City and Watford. Many thanks to Read Holmfirth, Linghams Books, David's Bookshop and Chorleywood, Chiltern Bookshops for supporting the tour!

Sandwell Literature Festival

To celebrate Halloween, Frances appeared at two Sandwell Libraries to talk about Unraveller and Island of Whispers as part of the Sandwell Literature Festival. (She still managed to return home in time to supply small visiting ghouls with sweets.)
